Jamal Mitchell, a 36-year-old Black / African American male, tragically lost his life on May 30, 2024, while serving as a Minneapolis police officer. On that evening, he was the first to respond to a report of a double shooting at an apartment building in the Whittier neighborhood. As he neared the scene, he observed two men in the street who appeared to be injured. One of these men was 35-year-old Mustafa Ahmed Mohamed.
