In the summer of 2023, the community of Greensburg in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana, was unsettled by the violent death of one of its residents. Clifton Alex Spears, a 39-year-old male, was found deceased in his home on Highway 1042 on Saturday, June 17, 2023. An investigation into his death quickly determined that he had been fatally shot.
The St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the shooting.
Their efforts led to the subsequent arrest of a man and a woman in connection with the death of Spears. The individuals taken into custody were identified as 24-year-old Dontavious Robinson of Independence and 27-year-old Roneisha Dunn of Greensburg. Both Robinson and Dunn were charged with second-degree murder as authorities continued to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
In the days following his death, friends and family gathered to mourn the loss of Clifton Alex Spears. Visitations were held on June 23 and June 24, 2023, at a funeral home in Greensburg, followed by a religious service in Roseland. He was laid to rest at Turners Chapel Cemetery in Greensburg. The legal proceedings against Dontavious Robinson and Roneisha Dunn are ongoing as the case progresses through the justice system.
