On November 14, 2023, 25-year-old Keron Khalil Briggs of LaPlace, Louisiana, was fatally shot in St. Rose. The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Turtle Creek Lane. Witnesses reported that Briggs was involved in a verbal altercation with an acquaintance outside a vehicle prior to the shooting. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his leg and torso and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
