In the spring of 2024, the life of 53-year-old Warren Fairley Jr. was tragically cut short in a violent encounter that also claimed the lives of two other individuals. A resident of New Orleans, Fairley was known as a cook and a grandfather. On April 3, 2024, his body, along with those of 33-year-old Marcey Vincent and 44-year-old Mindy Ann Robert, was discovered in a makeshift encampment situated in a vacant lot in Jefferson Parish.
All three victims had been shot multiple times.
While Vincent and Robert were believed to be experiencing homelessness and living at the campsite, Fairley resided in a nearby home. The grim discovery was made by a man who was reportedly dating one of the female victims. The initial investigation into the triple homicide led authorities to offer a reward for information that could help identify those responsible for the brutal act.
The investigation eventually led to the arrest of Noel Marine, a 55-year-old man who was known to frequent the encampment and visit with the victims. A crucial piece of evidence that pointed to Marine's involvement was a fingerprint found on a metal folding chair at the crime scene. Investigators have suggested that the motive behind the killings may have been a dispute over a stolen bicycle.
Following his arrest, Noel Marine was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice. He is currently being held on a one-hundred-thousand-dollar bond as he awaits legal proceedings. The case has drawn attention to the vulnerabilities of individuals living in unstable housing situations and the potential for disputes to escalate into deadly violence.
