In the quiet community of Pearl River, Louisiana, a grim discovery was made on the evening of May 26, 2024. Douglas LaFrance, a 74-year-old man, was found deceased on the front porch of his residence in the 67000 block of Slaughter Drive. Initially, the circumstances surrounding his death were deemed suspicious by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office deputies who were called to the scene around 5 p.m.
An autopsy conducted by the St.
Tammany Parish Coroner's Office soon confirmed the investigators' suspicions. The results revealed that Douglas LaFrance had not died of natural causes; his death was ruled a homicide.
