Herman Harris, a 65-year-old man, was found deceased on August 27, 2024, at his home on Highway 76 in Maringouin, Louisiana. He suffered a single gunshot wound, which led to his death.
The investigation into Harris's death revealed that it was part of a murder-for-hire scheme. Harris had been working for David Brooks Jr. and had been injured on the job. Investigators believe that the murder plot was initiated because Harris might sue Brooks for his injuries.
