In the Park Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, a tragedy unfolded on the afternoon of May 18, 2023. Vicxon Damaru Gray, a 24-year-old Black male from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was found fatally wounded. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue, where Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a call about a person down around 1:30 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Gray suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite any potential life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later confirmed that a gunshot wound was the cause of death. Born on November 19, 1998, Vicxon Gray's life was cut short by this act of violence.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting.
