In the quiet community of Vine Grove, Kentucky, a distressing event unfolded in the early morning hours of June 17, 2023, shattering the neighborhood's tranquility. Lisa Hanninen McLean, a 48-year-old Caucasian woman, was found deceased in her home on Edgebrook Drive. The discovery was made after the Vine Grove Police Department was dispatched to the residence for a welfare check at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers were met with a grim scene.
Inside the home, authorities found Lisa McLean and her 67-year-old husband, Allen McLean, both having suffered from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner's Office. The initial investigation, led by the Kentucky State Police, quickly pointed towards a murder-suicide. Evidence collected at the residence led investigators to believe that Allen McLean had shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself.
