On December 18, 2023, Deborah Jean Meece, also known as Debra Meece, a 47-year-old resident of London, Kentucky, tragically lost her life in what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide incident. The event occurred at a home in Laurel County, Kentucky.

Laurel County Sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare check at the residence. Upon arrival, they discovered Meece's body in the main bedroom of the home. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the face.
