On August 9, 2023, Justin Joseph Salisbury, a 43-year-old resident of Newport, Oregon, was fatally shot on the Yaquina Bay Bridge. The incident occurred at 12:54 p.m. on the west walkway of the bridge.

Salisbury was shot once by a motorist, and another person was detained immediately following the incident. The Newport Police Department identified several witnesses to the shooting and have forwarded the results of their investigation to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office. ...Read More
