On August 14, 2023, Kim Marie Fairbanks, a 52-year-old resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, was fatally shot in her home. The incident occurred when Victor Nieves, a 34-year-old neighbor, forced his way into the multi-family home shared by the victims on Berkshire Avenue.
