On the night of March 7, 2024, Deandre Jones, a 32-year-old man, was fatally shot while sitting in his pickup truck in Randolph, Massachusetts. The incident took place just before midnight at the Castle Village Condominiums on Highland Glen Drive, where he had been staying with his girlfriend and 14-year-old son. Randolph police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots in the area and discovered Jones inside his truck, which was riddled with bullets.
He was suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders rushed Jones to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, but he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m. The Norfolk District Attorney's Office has since launched a homicide investigation. According to his mother, Jones was ambushed by a masked gunman shortly after finishing work. Just two days shy of what would have been his 33rd birthday, the father and breeder of French bulldogs was targeted in what appeared to be an intentional act of violence. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a shooter approaching from the parking lot of an adjacent complex before opening fire.
Detectives from the Randolph Police Department and Massachusetts State Police have been actively investigating the case, processing the crime scene and collecting evidence. Jones's pickup truck was towed to the Randolph Police Station for forensic analysis. Despite the ongoing investigation and the belief that he was intentionally targeted, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. The community has been left shaken by the violent event in an area described by neighbors as typically safe.
