On the night of May 31, 2024, Pereshah-Saphir Shear-Yashub, a 27-year-old Black/African American woman from Boston, Massachusetts, was fatally shot. The incident occurred just after 11:15 p.m. outside a residence on Edson Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. Boston police responded to reports of a shooting and found Shear-Yashub suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
