The incident occurred just after 11:15 p.m. outside a residence on Edson Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. Boston police responded to reports of a shooting and found Shear-Yashub suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
She was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to her family, Shear-Yashub was an innocent bystander. She was reportedly spending time with friends when the shooting began. Her older sister described her as someone who was not a troublemaker and was not involved in any illegal activities. Family members remember her as a vibrant and creative individual, an entrepreneur who ran her own business dedicated to making others feel beautiful. They characterized her as a beloved sister and aunt.
The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the shooting, which has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Shear-Yashub's death, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
