On a summer evening in Boston, 22-year-old African-American Sharrice Perkins was with her friends, enjoying the end of a weekend. On August 12, 2012, their lives were tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on Harlem Street in Dorchester. Sharrice, along with her two friends, Kristen Lartey and Genevieve Phillip, both also 22, were sitting in a parked car when they were ambushed and fatally shot.
