Darryl Thomas Mantz Sr., a 46-year-old resident of Belleville, Illinois, and formerly of Dupo, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. He was born on February 4, 1977, in Belleville, Illinois.
Darryl was known for his diverse interests and hobbies. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, with John Cena being his favorite wrestler. Additionally, he was a fan of NASCAR, particularly admiring drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr.
and Sr. Darryl was also skilled with his hands and enjoyed fixing things.
He is survived by his son, Darryl Thomas Mantz Jr.; his parents, Kevin and Lora (nee Wren) Mantz; his brother, Kyle Mantz; and his grandmother, Ellen Mantz. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Darryl was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Rev. James Wren Sr., as well as his paternal grandfather, Don Mantz Sr., and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on March 6, 2023, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, followed immediately by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Josh Boyer. The family requested memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses in lieu of customary remembrances.
