Reginald Meadows, a 31-year-old resident of Willowbrook, Illinois, was fatally shot during a Juneteenth celebration in the early hours of Sunday, June 18, 2023. The event, which was held in a parking lot at the intersection of Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose Lane in unincorporated Willowbrook Township, drew a crowd of approximately 200 people. The celebration turned violent when gunfire erupted around 12:30 a.m., resulting in Meadows' death and injuries to 22 others.
