The victim was Brandon Alcaraz, a 22-year-old Hispanic male.
Near midnight on March 2, 2024, he was in a vehicle stopped at a stop sign on the 2500 block of South Trumbull Avenue in Chicago's Little Village when another car pulled alongside and gunfire erupted.
Struck in the head, the 22-year-old was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A 17-year-old boy in the same vehicle was hit in the leg and survived.
