On March 25, 2024, the Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad to investigate the death of Daniel L. Nunn, a 19-year-old resident of Cahokia Heights, Illinois. The incident occurred on March 23, 2024, when officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Melvin Drive and Lazarcheff Drive. Upon arrival, they found Daniel Nunn in a residential yard, where he had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
