On March 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM, 27-year-old Luis A. Ramirez of East Chicago, Indiana, was fatally shot. East Chicago officers responded to a call at 1021 W. 145th Street, where they found an unresponsive Hispanic male bleeding from the head on the sidewalk.
