On May 13, 2024, 48-year-old Gregory W. Hostetler, owner of Greg's Towing & Recovery and Five Star Auto Sales, was fatally shot during a dispute at his business in Hervey City, Illinois. The altercation began when 25-year-old Tiimon Perry arrived to retrieve a vehicle that had been towed earlier that day. A disagreement over towing fees escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Perry produced a handgun and shot Hostetler in the head, resulting in his immediate death.
