Antoine Williams, 38, was fatally shot near the CTA Howard Red Line station in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood on June 25, 2024. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Williams with a gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Surveillance footage revealed that Williams was crossing Howard Street when an assailant emerged from a nearby alley and shot him at point-blank range in the back of the head.
The gunman then fled back through the alley. This incident marked the second targeted shooting near the Howard station within a nine-day span, following the June 17 murder of a 45-year-old man in the same vicinity.
Williams was known to local authorities. In late 2023, he had been arrested on charges related to firearm possession and cannabis distribution at an address close to the location of his death. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with his murder. Community leaders and law enforcement continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these incidents.
