On October 21, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., 17-year-old Jaquan Love and a 23-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of West Douglas Boulevard in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. A dark-colored car approached, and an individual inside opened fire, striking both men. Love sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
