On February 17, 2023, 72-year-old Debra Lynn Bates Wright was found deceased in the driver's seat of her car in the driveway of her Clarkston, Georgia, home. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Authorities quickly identified her stepson, 45-year-old William Daniel Wright, as the primary suspect.
