In the early evening of June 16, 2023, a dispute at a Pilot Travel Center in Madison, Georgia, turned fatal, claiming the life of 32-year-old Taylor Dickens of McDonough. The male victim was at the travel center when an altercation broke out between himself and another man.
The argument escalated, and the other individual, identified as 28-year-old Charles Corbitt of Augusta, produced a firearm and shot Dickens.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Dickens was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation by the Madison Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Charles Corbitt was arrested. He has been charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Taylor Dickens. Corbitt was subsequently booked into the Morgan County Jail.
