On September 18, 2014, Angelia Mangum, age 19, and her friend Tjhisha Ball, age 18, were found dead along a roadside in Jacksonville, Florida. Both young women were from Tampa and had been bound with zip ties. Witnesses described the scene as horrific, with the two victims "hog-tied" and their bodies appearing as though they had been thrown from an overpass.
