On July 16, 2023, 19-year-old Khaliyah Jones was kidnapped and murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Cameron Ja'Michael Hopkins, in a tragic and violent incident in Fayetteville and Clayton County, Georgia.

The events began around 11 p.m. when multiple 911 calls were made reporting a kidnapping in progress at a Wingstop restaurant located at 770 North Glynn Street in Fayetteville.
