On a Sunday evening in Thomaston, Georgia, the life of 24-year-old Tyquerria Molly Neal was tragically cut short. On February 4, 2024, law enforcement responded to a call at approximately 6:30 p.m. regarding a shooting on Avenue L. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ms. Neal and a male individual, identified as 26-year-old Tyler Montfort of Thomaston, lying in the front yard of a residence, both having sustained gunshot wounds. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to witness statements provided to the Thomaston Police Department, the incident stemmed from a domestic-related argument between Ms. Neal, who was from Concord, Georgia, and Mr. Montfort. The preliminary investigation suggests that during the altercation, Mr. Montfort shot Ms. Neal before turning the gun on himself in what has been described as a murder-suicide. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths remains active.

She was a graduate of Pike County High School and was pursuing further education as a Radiology Technician at Southern Crescent, where she had been nominated for the National Society of Leadership and Success. For over three years, she was a dedicated employee at Home Depot, working as a General Warehouse Associate and Forklift Driver. A mother of two children, a son and a daughter, she was remembered for her love of shopping, planning family vacations, and spending cherished time with her family and friends.
