On March 13, 2024, 19-year-old Bryant Elder of Luthersville, Georgia, was fatally shot in a homicide incident that prompted a significant law enforcement response.

The incident occurred at a house located on 120 College Street in Luthersville, where deputies from the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Department were called around 5:40 p.m. following a 911 report of a person shot.
