Johnnel Jr. Johnson, aged 18, was tragically killed on April 26, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was attending a house party on Dawnridge Road South, which was a graduation celebration for First Coast High School students, when a dispute broke out, leading to the shooting. Johnnel was shot multiple times during the altercation, and unfortunately, despite the presence of dozens of partygoers, no arrests have been made, and his case remains unsolved.
Johnnel's mother, Katani Pollydore, has since spoken out about her son's death, describing him as a young man who always tried to help others and never bothered anyone. She remembers the last time she saw him, the memories now frozen in time, such as the picture from his senior prom. Although more than 50 people were at the party that night, no one has come forward with definitive information that could identify the shooter. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office mentioned that Khalil Bradley was named as a person of interest, partly due to an ongoing rivalry between him and Johnnel, but witnesses have not provided enough evidence to tie Bradley directly to the shooting.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office continues to appeal to the public for any information that may help solve the case, urging anyone with knowledge to contact them or Crime Stoppers. The family, alongside law enforcement, hopes that by raising awareness, someone will eventually come forward to provide the missing pieces that could lead to justice for Johnnel.
