Mason Schermerhorn, a 14-year-old freshman student at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, tragically lost his life on September 4, 2024, in a mass shooting at the school. The incident occurred when a 14-year-old gunman, identified as Colt Gray, opened fire inside the school, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including Mason, fellow student Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall.
