On July 30, 2023, Leinys Andreina Gonzalez Bandres, a 37-year-old woman, was tragically shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide incident in Orange County, Florida. The perpetrator was identified as Yeans Cardenas Cuesta, a 34-year-old man who was Gonzalez Bandres' roommate. After shooting Gonzalez Bandres, Cuesta took his own life.
