On September 13, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, resulting in the death of 68-year-old Dorothy "Dee Dee" Smart. The circumstances surrounding Smart's death were violent and deeply troubling, as she was found shot dead inside a van in the driveway of a single-family home.
