Sheena Levine, a 35-year-old resident of Pensacola, Florida, was murdered on November 22, 2023. The suspect in her murder is her husband, Darryl Jerome Walker, 36.
According to the investigation, Walker called his daughter early in the morning on November 22, just after 5:04 a.m., and told her that he had "f—ed up" and instructed her to come to their home. When the daughter asked if her mother was okay, Walker did not respond and became quiet.
The daughter then woke up her younger brother, and they both went to their mother’s home.
Upon arrival, they found the front door locked, but Walker opened it after they banged on the door. Inside, they discovered their mother lying on the ground by the bathroom door, covered in blood. Walker, who had blood on his clothes and down the left side of his arm, stood over his wife and hugged her. He repeated that "she" had reached for the gun.
When the daughter asked why he did not call 9-1-1, Walker gave her a weird stare and did not respond. He then grabbed the gun lying near Levine and said, "Baby, I gotta go. I can’t go back to jail." After this, he ran out of the house and disappeared. The daughter locked the door behind him to prevent him from returning and potentially harming her and her brother.
The siblings did not find a pulse on their mother, who was turning blue. Following the incident, a manhunt was initiated for Walker, which was later completed with his arrest. Walker has a history of convictions, including child neglect and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, and he is now facing charges for second-degree murder and possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted Florida felon. He is currently in the Escambia County Jail and is scheduled for arraignment on December 21.
