Marvin Lancaster III, age 21, was shot and killed on February 6, 2016, in Tampa, Florida, during an incident at Club Rayne located on North Nebraska Avenue. On the night of the shooting, Marvin was reportedly streaming live using the Periscope app, making this one of the earliest known instances where a victim broadcast their own murder live over social media. Another individual, Christopher Houston, was also injured during the shooting.
The Tampa Police Department has continued to seek information from the public to solve this case.
The live-streamed footage and other clues have led to multiple public appeals for witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting. Marvin’s parents have also spoken out, expressing their grief and calling for justice for their son. Tampa Police encourage anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact Crime Stoppers to aid in the ongoing investigation.
