On February 2, 2024, Edward James Bennis, a 26-year-old employee at Norton’s Riverside Bar and Grill in downtown Crystal River, Florida, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 1:52 a.m. when Bennis was shot by Gabriel Hugh Trainor, 24, of Lake Panasoffkee.
