On July 12, 2024, Miramar police responded to a shooting near a dentist's office located at 1141 Palm Avenue in Hialeah, Florida. Upon arrival, they found Adalberto Wagner Garrido, a 58-year-old homeless man, with a gunshot wound to the head. Garrido was immediately transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 19, 2024.
