Larreon Da’Quan Cosby, a 32-year-old man, was fatally shot on the night of September 18, 2024, at an apartment complex in Lake Mary, Florida. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. at 497 Sun Lake Circle in an unincorporated area of Lake Mary. Deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found Cosby dead on the front porch of an apartment.
The investigation quickly identified a suspect with a connection to the victim. Nathanial Samuel Bratcher II, 26, who was the ex-boyfriend of Cosby’s girlfriend, was apprehended following the incident. According to Cosby’s girlfriend, Bratcher had called her earlier and threatened to kill Cosby. After she was unable to reach Cosby by phone to warn him, she and several acquaintances drove to Cosby’s apartment, where they found him unresponsive and bleeding.
Bratcher fled the scene in a white Ford Mustang convertible but was tracked by a police helicopter. He was subsequently stopped by Sanford police at the area of Osceola and El Capitan drives and taken into custody without incident. Bratcher has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder and was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on no bond.
