On November 5, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the Coco Parc condominium community in Coconut Creek, Florida. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Bryce McFadden, was shot and killed outside his home in the 900 block of Lyons Road. The incident happened at approximately 5:40-5:44 PM, prompting a significant police response and urging residents to stay indoors for over two hours.
Bryce McFadden was a recent graduate of Youth Under Construction, a school for at-risk students, where he
was remembered fondly by his principal, Delvin King, and other staff members. King described McFadden as being at the top of his class and noted that he had visited the school just a couple of weeks prior to pick up his transcript, as he had been accepted to attend Atlantic Technical College.
The shooting is part of a disturbing trend of gun violence in the area. Earlier in the year, another student from Youth Under Construction, 17-year-old Terrance Farrington, was also fatally shot near a Best Buy store in the Sawgrass Mills area. Despite these incidents, police have not made any arrests in connection with McFadden's murder as of the latest reports.

Bryce McFadden's mother, Ayrica Williams, has offered a $30,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for her son's murder.
