On July 28, 2023, Morgan Dane Salgado, 22, was fatally shot in the head at his grandmother’s home located at 516 S. Madison St., Apt. 604, on the south side of Cortez, Colorado. The incident was reported to 911 by Salgado's grandmother, Audrey Collom, who made the call indicating that a man had been shot in the head.
