In a tragic event that unfolded in Parker, Colorado, seven-year-old Dane Timms, a non-verbal autistic boy, was killed by his father on January 11, 2024. The young male's life was cut short in what authorities have described as a double murder-suicide.
The devastating incident began inside the family's home in the Canterberry Crossing neighborhood. There, 38-year-old Brandon Timms fatally shot Dane's mother, 43-year-old Angel Rae Meyers.
Following the murder of his partner, Brandon Timms drove with his son, Dane, to the area of the Rueter-Hess Incline. It was there that he shot and killed the young boy before turning the gun on himself.
Law enforcement officials were called to the scene where they discovered the bodies of Brandon and Dane Timms. The investigation led them to the family's residence on Blackwolf Drive, where they found Angel Meyers deceased. The Douglas County Coroner's Office later confirmed that all three individuals died from gunshot wounds. The deaths of Angel Meyers and Dane Timms were ruled as homicides, while Brandon Timms's death was determined to be a suicide.
Dane was remembered by his mother's best friend as a cuddly child who found comfort in sitting on her lap. His mother was a dedicated advocate for him and other children with autism.
