On a summer night in England, Arkansas, the life of 34-year-old Justin Williams was tragically cut short. The male victim, from Pulaski County, was at a motorcycle club on July 1, 2023, when a series of altercations broke out. The disputes eventually spilled outside, leading to a fatal shooting at the corner of South Main and Nichols streets. Williams was shot multiple times and, despite being rushed to a hospital, succumbed to his injuries.
Another individual was also wounded in the gunfire but survived.
The investigation into the homicide was conducted by the England Police Department with assistance from the Arkansas State Police. Witnesses at the scene identified Tamarous Dodson, then 22, of England as the gunman. One witness reported seeing Dodson involved in several altercations inside the club and overheard him making threats. Another witness recounted seeing Dodson shoot Williams twice, in the abdomen and the head, and then fire additional shots as Williams lay on the ground before fleeing the scene.
Following a months-long investigation, Tamarous Dodson was taken into custody on December 9, 2023, at a residence in England. He was initially charged with first-degree murder. On August 12, 2025, Dodson, then 24, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Justin Williams. He was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
