Native American/Indigenous woman Annie Mann, age 45, was discovered on August 8, 1999, behind an abandoned warehouse at 1924 Post Road in Anchorage, Alaska. The spot sat in an industrial pocket of the city, a place of loading docks and quiet weekend streets, where her body was found out of public view. Early notices emphasized the date and location of discovery and identified her as a 45-year-old woman whose death was being investigated as a homicide.
