On June 29, 2023, Teresa Elizabeth Jeffries, a 51-year-old resident of Glen Jean, West Virginia, was fatally shot in a car park along Route 19 near Shady Spring Elementary School in Shady Spring, West Virginia. She died from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.
