Jesus Mateo Puerta Tovar, a 19-year-old resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, died on October 28, 2023. His death occurred during a Halloween party, where a fatal shooting took place.

The incident led to the filing of charges against Jhared Ivan Rodriguez by the Salt Lake County District Attorney, Sim Gill. Rodriguez is alleged to have been involved in the shooting that resulted in Puerta Tovar's death.
