In the early morning hours of December 30, 2023, a dispute over a parking space at a Murray apartment complex escalated into a fatal confrontation that claimed the life of 42-year-old Mojtaba Ahmadi. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 18-year-old Laka Girah, unfolded at the Brickgate at Fireclay apartment complex.

The conflict began when Ahmadi confronted Girah about a car being parked in his assigned stall. Both Girah and his associate, 19-year-old Sobeth Noge Koki, were openly carrying firearms. As the argument intensified, two of Ahmadi's sons joined the dispute. The verbal altercation turned physical when Girah shoved one of Ahmadi's sons, leading to a struggle over Girah's rifle.

During the chaotic struggle, Koki allegedly pointed his handgun at several individuals. Multiple gunshots were fired, striking both Ahmadi and Girah. Ahmadi was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Girah was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, Sobeth Noge Koki fled but was later located and arrested by Murray police detectives. He has since been charged with murder, obstruction of justice, and felony discharge of a firearm with injury. The case remains an active investigation, with the possibility of further developments.
