On September 25, 2024, 61-year-old Patrick L. Hayes of Hideout, Utah, was fatally shot in what appears to be a road rage incident near Jordanelle Reservoir. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. when Hayes was found dead outside his vehicle at the entrance to the Ross Creek Day Use Area in Jordanelle State Park.
