On January 28, 2024, Molly Rae Barlow, a 39-year-old resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa, died tragically at her home. The incident involved a violent event where Molly and another woman, 63-year-old Phyllis Versteeg, were allegedly shot.

Molly's death was part of a larger tragic event that also claimed the life of her husband, Duran Barlow, who was 41 years old. Duran died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the same night as Molly.
