Anthony Hinners, a 59-year-old resident of Pomeroy, Iowa, died on April 9, 2022, due to a fatal gunshot wound. The incident occurred at the home of his brother, Michael Kenneth Hinners, also in Pomeroy.

Michael Kenneth Hinners was arrested on April 9, 2022, in connection with Anthony's death. He was initially charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting his brother with a shotgun. During the investigation, Michael told police that the shooting was an accident.
