In the early morning hours of April 6, 2019, a fatal encounter unfolded in the parking lot of the La Rubia y la Morena bar in Glendale, Arizona. Twenty-seven-year-old Jorge 'Daniel' Marmolejo-Jurado, a Hispanic male and father of two, was shot and killed after a brief interaction. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
