On the evening of September 25, 2020, Henry Jimmy Ochoa, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot at an apartment complex near 35th and Dunlap Avenues in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix police responded to a shooting call around 8 p.m. and found Mr. Ochoa at the scene, where he was pronounced dead. The following day, the police publicly identified him as the victim.
Henry 'Jimmy' Ochoa III, as he was also known, was a father of two sons.
He was remembered by his family as a happy and energetic person who loved being outdoors, riding his skateboard and bike. He worked as a journeyman carpenter, a career he was proud of, and had a passion for music, even writing his own rap lyrics.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and as of initial reports, the circumstances surrounding the incident were still being examined by the Phoenix Police Department. Authorities had not identified a shooter, and no arrests had been made in connection with the case. Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness to assist in the investigation.
